The S&P/ASX 200 was slammed on Friday, but then recovered to close down by just 11 points (0.26%) to 4,305.40. It will be interesting to see if the Aussie market follows the positive action from Friday’s Wall Street session.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 125 points at 10,193.39.
European markets closed down with the FTSE dropping 10 points (0.2%) to 5,062.93.
The Nikkei dropped 245 points, ending the session at 9,784.54.
The price of spot gold in Australian dollars is trading at $1,421.66 while in US Dollars it is trading at $1,179.70. The price of silver in Aussie dollars is $21.31 and in US Dollars it is $17.68.
The Aussie dollar versus the US dollar is USD$0.8284 and against the Japanese Yen JPY74.70.
Crude Oil closed at USD$70.88.

I’ve expanded the high-low chart again. You’ll see that the number of companies hitting the 52-week low (193) is the highest number since 21st November 2008 when 486 companies hit a 52-week low.
